Are you the go-to person when a friend or classmate has a question about a paper or writing project? Do you like to talk to people and help tell their story? If so, good, you're in the right place. As Bethesda's MarCom Intern, you'll have an opportunity to build your portfolio through collaboration on a variety of internal and external projects. You will learn what kind of work you enjoy and what you're good at while helping us tell the Bethesda story that centers around the thousands of people with developmental disabilities we support across the United States.

  • Work with members of Bethesda's Marketing and Communications team to complete internal electronic communications, write feature stories for newsletters and our website and serve on project teams for employee engagement.
  • Write news releases, compile media distribution lists, develop media pitches, craft stories for Bethesda's online audience and monitor media activity using online tools.
  • Conduct market research for strategic projects using online tools and develop comprehensive marketing and communications plans.
  • Create content for a variety of Bethesda social media platforms and monitor corporate social media activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Students applying for this position should have strong writing and editing skills and should be majoring in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or similar majors. Comprehensive understanding of Associated Press Style, experience with basic social media platforms and proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required. Candidates must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.

This is a paid internship.
