Membership Avenue, formed in late 2015, was developed to leapfrog non-profit organizations (big and small) into the future using modern marketing methods, technology and personal touch.  Our services help our non-profit client's excel in fundraising, membership recruitment, and retention.

Up until now, we have not marketed ourselves besides good old-fashioned networking and referrals, thus we are small company of not yet 20 people. We needed to prove out our technology, processes, systems and methods before looking to scale.

When you do great work, clients give you more work to do, but that wasn't our only goal.

Now that we have surpassed our initial goals, proved our methods, and exceeded our client's expectations, it's time to propel our company nationally.

We are looking for an incredible experienced Content Marketing Director to join our growing team to develop and build out the inbound Content Marketing strategy. This role is a huge opportunity for a rockstar that would jump at the chance to build their whole team and process from the ground up.

You will notice that our website currently has very little content, as we're just beginning to build our library. We are a highly entrepreneurial organization that strives to be the leading innovator in the non-profit industry. That's why your expertise is needed to make that a reality.

Your team will create high-value, insightful, inspiring content that makes our companies a ‘go-to’ resource for non-profit clients, prospects, and news sources across the industries we serve. You’ll also directly impact our success by assisting lead generation efforts with highly relevant, SEO-savvy content that raises our visibility to key industries and prospects.

Ultimately, the role of the Content Marketing Director is to think creatively and critically, be an expert storyteller, leading the strategy and development of physical and digital assets that drive the business through thought leadership, lead generation, and overall sales and marketing who can develop and implement new content to elevate our message, boost online engagement and drive leads.

Your team will support all aspects of marketing, focusing mainly on content creation, ideation, creative marketing, content generation and distribution, digital media creation, video production, and more.

Content Strategy and Promotion:

  • Figure out the role of content in the marketing mix and the consumer decision journey, how & why to invest and how to measure return on investment.
  • Utilize content to drive organic and paid traffic to considerably grow our online audience to generate leads, act as a liaison between the company and our target customers, and learn what makes them tick (and buy).
  • Develop measurement and reporting on the effectiveness of content messaging and delivery, determining which methods work, and why
  • Designing and implementing online advertising campaigns to consume the content.
  • Employ social media platforms and tools to deliver content in support of sales and marketing automation initiatives
  • Develop partnerships with the world's leading storytellers, producers, influencers and talent.

Content Planning:

  • Create content plans, schedules, and editorial calendars for long-term content marketing strategies. 
  • Developing of a functional content pipeline and editorial calendar that maps assets to target vertical industries, personas, geographies, and lifecycle stages.
  • Delivering a persona-driven content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives from top of the funnel to bottom of the funnel. optimizing future content for SEO and user experience based on feedback

Content Ideation:

  • Find and develop stories to tell across all media like video, podcasts, articles, infographics.
  • Develop campaign briefs, identifying target audience and personas, positioning and marketing strategy
  • Conceptualize, develop, and manage, innovative digital content that creates market engagement and conversion

Content Research:

  • Leveraging customer, partner, and market data to develop content themes/topics.
  • Conducting periodic competitive audits and regular gap reviews.

Content Types that your Team will Create:

  • Develop compelling creative optimized for each channel (online video, pre-roll, banners, etc), exploring new formats and best practices on an ongoing basis
  • Create content of all types including videos, podcasts, ebooks, blog posts, infographics, white papers, online webinars, recorded webinars, social media, hangouts, webcasts and any other cool thing you can think of!
  • Create persuasive content to promote sales using email marketing, web pages, lead-driven landing pages, direct mail, social media posts and blogs, and marketing collateral.

Content Collaboration:

  • Participating in the recruiting, hiring, supervising, and professional development of content creators/storytellers.
  • Collaborate with designers, marketing, sales professionals, external influencers, and industry experts to produce content that differentiates us among our competitors.
  • Work with our content creators and graphic designers, including internal and freelance writers, to produce content that is well written and visually compelling
  • Work collaboratively to determine content needs, measure success of messaging, conduct A/B testing, and optimize based on results

Content Verification:

  • Verify all copy for accurate messages and appropriate SEO linking
  • Ensuring that all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for the digital and/or physical medium.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of successful content marketing campaigns
  • 4+ years of leading a content creation team and/or digital content marketing experience is highly desirable
  • Superstar attitude, adaptable to rapidly evolving situations, and excellent problem solving skills
  • Seasoned project management skills and ability to juggle multiple deadlines without losing your cool and are an experienced cat herder at times.
  • You have a passion for innovation and finding new content promotion vehicles and venues In-depth knowledge and understanding of social platforms and associated trends, best practices, and tools
  • Strong management, leadership, and mentoring skills, including managing internal teams, contractors, and consultants, and setting, managing, and ensuring teams meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and application of website analytics, data management and Search Engine Optimization. 
  • Knowledge and utilization of all major and most minor digital marketing strategies Working
  • Knowledge of: HTML coding and CSS, PHP, ASP, DHTML and Java script
  • Working knowledge of: Creative Suite, Webinar, and Video and Audio Production
  • Excellent planning and web project management skills across multiple simultaneously developing platforms.
  • An eagle eye for detail and copy editing skill.
  • Experience working within a style guide
  • Fantastic people skills. You find satisfaction in collaborating with and helping others
  • Experience prioritizing multiple, changing priorities, and the ability to operate with a sense of urgency.
