Summary 
Description

JDRF is offering a competitive unpaid internship, beginning as soon as possible and running through early summer. The event intern will assist the development managers and coordinator in the overall planning of four key fundraising events (i.e. gala, ride, walk and youth initiatives). Responsibilities include: marketing, event management, soliciting event participation/support of JDRF’s mission, auction procurement, data management and volunteer management.

Qualifications
  • Interest in special event fundraising, nonprofit management, business and/or communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational skills – ability to manage time and meeting deadlines
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent phone presence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and MS Outlook experience preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Internship begins as soon as possible and runs through the early summer 2017
  • Must be able to commit 10-15 hours per week.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle for local travel. (Mileage is reimbursable)
