We are seeking a senior media planner who will be responsible for the development and implementation of both traditional and digital media objectives and strategies. The senior media planner is responsible for taking an active role in moving client business forward and for working with the media and account management teams to develop fresh, effective media ideas that can be presented and merchandised to the client. They perform an active role in planning media, translating those plans into buying specs and actively managing media buys to ensure client objectives are met. An ability to effectively communicate and sell media strategy and rationale to clients is crucial.

  • Negotiate with media vendors and work with the team to develop strategic recommendations that meet client-marketing goals and objectives
  • Develop a considered website list for site-direct digital buys based on knowledge and relationships
  • Develop and maintain media plans and related documentation, including approvals and budgets
  • Utilize media research tools and resources to develop strategic client recommendations
  • Develop Request for Proposals and field any vendor questions surrounding RFPs
  • Evaluate returned RFPs and determine vehicle selections with digital media buyer
  • Develop the final buy recommendation and buy summary with media coordinators
  • Provide measurement with necessary information and document framework to pull results data (e.g., performance reports, buy summaries, etc.)
  • Analyze the data against the defined campaign success metrics (includes evaluation of creative performance)
  • A minimum of three years of online media planning experience in a full service, digital media or media agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing or related program
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of the digital (interactive) media marketplace
  • Clear understanding of the digital media planning and buying process
  • Understanding and experience with some traditional media (Spot TV, radio, outdoor, etc.)
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of interactive marketing concepts and best practices
  • Strong mathematic and analytical skills Experience with third-party ad servers
  • Ability to pull research, rating and competitive information from differing available resources depending on context
  • Ability to analyze complex data and market research, and assist in formulating actionable plans
  • Ability to understand client objectives and how they translate into media strategies
  • Solid understanding of digital media performance metrics
