We are currently seeking a Public Relations Specialist to work from our corporate headquarters in Warrenville, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Write press releases for print, broadcast and electronic media 
  • Field crisis calls and help craft media responses 
  • Respond to reporter requests 
  • Generate story ideas 
  • Report pitching-to-placement success 
  • Help create and maintain favorable company image and reputation 
  • Initiate creative approaches to and channels for news delivery 
  • Research media and industry trends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related area of study 
  • 2-3 years’ experience in public relations or related field 
  • Crisis response and media relations experience 
  • Excellent writing skills 
  • Impeccable attention to detail—copyediting and proofing materials 
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments 
  • Creative, flexible and coachable 
  • Team-oriented 
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines 
  • Must be available after hours to ensure timely media response 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, the Internet, social media and online channels
