Interior Designer

A Milwaukee based interior design firm, specializing in high end residential projects with projects locally and around the country, is looking for a Senior Level Interior Designer with experience in Residential Design to join our team. The right person will work with the principal on existing projects and will lead new projects once they are established in the firm. We seek a qualified designer with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the interior design field with proven client engagement and project management skills.

The Senior Designer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist the Principal with all aspects of a project from start to finish with the support of other team members and contractors. 
• Serve as Lead designer on projects. 
• Create plans and custom designs with AutoCAD (renderings a plus). 
• Create client proposals and presentations, budgets and contracts. 
• Project budget management 
• Select interior furnishings, finishes & material including furnishings, lighting selections, etc. 
• Specify construction materials 
• Participate and lead client and contractor meetings. 
• Out of town travel may be periodically required.

Required Skills:

• Strong design sensibility and a passion for the industry 
• Self-motivated and proactive individual 
• Experience in creating residential design plans; furniture layouts, room renderings, specifying and sourcing building materials as well as furnishings for high-end projects 
• Experience with space planning, along with creating furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical plans and elevations 
• Must be able to read and understand construction plans. (Experience/familiar with construction management a plus) 
• Experience in designing custom furniture and product design 
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Design Manager 
• Able to create and manage budgets 
• Able to prioritize competing project demands 
• Ability to work proactively, with minimal direction 
• Ability to be a team player as well as build relationships 
• Possess exceptional client engagement skills 
• Possess good interpersonal and written communication skills 
• Be extremely detail oriented, and possess excellent follow-through 
• Must be able to operate a vehicle, own a car and have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. 
• Customer service oriented. 
• Availability for occasional overnight travel.· 

Design Experience: Worked a min of 3-5 years in the industry

Required education: Bachelor of Science/Arts

Compensation commesurate with experience $40,000 - $60,000
