Jacobson/Rost is seeking an eager and enthusiastic Media Planner/Buyer with a diverse media skill set to join our growing team of integrated communications specialists working with a fantastic group of clients. The right candidate will have 2+ years planning/buying experience in a media, full-service or digital agency environment. This person should have experience in a variety of media forms, but be resourceful and willing to learn. More importantly a good person, and a nice teammate who is ambitious about their future. The Media Planner/Buyer will quickly become an integral part of the multi-functional team working to deliver communications solutions that lead to transactions for our clients. The right person for this role should be eager to work in a collaborative environment, but have the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of assigned accounts/responsibilities. This person is highly organized and possesses strong analytical skills required to provide insightful rationale for media plan and buy recommendations.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced working environment will be required.

Key Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vendor relationships
  • Effectively negotiate rates for all media outlets including Local Broadcast, Out-of-Home, Magazines, Newspapers and Digital
  • Develop media objectives and strategies to meet marketing objectives
  • Research, analyze and apply consumer insights and behaviors to determine media solutions
  • Create strategic marketing plans that meet unique client goals and craft media recommendations & POVs to clients (planning and buying)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to develop creative solutions to client’s business challenges
  • Collaborate with Media and Account teams to provide weekly reporting to clients
  • Maintain and monitor client budgets
  • Track audience delivery for all buys, reconcile invoice discrepancies, negotiate make goods, and report results
  • Digital Deployment skills a plus

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; at least 2 years’ of media buying and/or planning experience required. Both digital and traditional media.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint a must
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective negotiation skills that result in mutually beneficial partnerships for our clients
  • Strong knowledge of media planning and buying tools (STRATA, Telmar, comScore, Kantar, 3rd party ad servers, Google AdWords, etc.)
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, along with an ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with effective time management skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Passion for collaboration and intellectual curiosity of business challenges
  • Ability to thrive in a small, intense, and high growth environment
