Packaging Copywriter

Pinch Provisions, the leading purveyor of personal care kits and premium emergency essentials, is seeking a part-time packaging copywriter to join its growing creative team. The copywriter will be responsible for both copy that appears in and on each product, with ideal candidates possessing gift for the tiniest of details.

Our products are very small, jam-packed with information, and painstaking. Candidates must be extremely detail oriented, and thrive on finding and correcting the smallest of errors and inconsistencies.

This is a part-time, off-site position. On occasion, on-site meetings at our Elk Grove Village, IL office will be required. This position starts immediately and will report to the creative director.

Responsibilities will include:

• Technical Writing. Writer will draft product copy to pass to the design staff, and then proof designs with extreme attention to detail. 
• Translations. When needed, writer will submit terms to translation service and maintain a guidebook of translated terms that is organized and accessible to the rest of the staff. 
• Style Guide. Writer will create and maintain a product style guide.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a four year college degree, preferably in English, Journalism, or Marketing 
• Demonstrate 3-5 years of experience writing in a professional capacity; copyediting experience a strong plus 
• Demonstrate interest in the fashion, beauty, and/or lifestyle industries 
• Strong command of MS Office required; knowledge of Basecamp is a plus 
• Reside in the Chicagoland area.
