NOTE: This position is currently located at our Corporate Headquarters in Niles, IL. In the Fall we are opening a new City Center location and this position will then relocate to downtown Chicago.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Director, this position is responsible for the development and deployment of global marketing programs. This role will work with a variety of cross-functional partners including product management, regional channel marketing, colleagues within Global Marketing, and external agencies to develop marketing & messaging strategies and go-to-market tools in support of product launches and other key initiatives. In particular, this role will have a focus on initiatives related to corporate audio/video conferencing and IT. In addition, may manage the work efforts of supervisors/individual contributors with responsibility for personnel decisions and other recommendations.

Representative Duties:

  • Leads development of messaging and marketing communication assets for assigned new product and strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Works with product teams to translate product features into relevant user benefits and define value propositions.
  • Works with regional channel marketing teams to understand marketing support needs and define go-to-market toolboxes to support initiatives. 
  • Interfaces with product development teams to manage timing and process for product photography and product specifications. 
  • Manages outside agencies in the development and execution of marketing assets such as photography, copy, print materials, and other tools. 
  • Works with internal cross-functional teams such as Web, Social Media, Video, Public Relations, Artist Relations and others as needed to ensure coordination of efforts for assigned marketing initiatives. 
  • Provides thought leadership around marketing process and innovative marketing methods across web, social media, events, etc. to complement traditional communication platforms. 
  • Actively seeks opportunities to further develop in-depth product and customer knowledge (including training, attending trade shows, visiting key customers, etc.). 
  • Identifies opportunities to recommend research to better inform partners and inspire marketing communications decisions that are fact based. 
  • Ensures the faithful execution of the Shure Brand Guidelines in all communication materials. 
  • Has involvement in internal Global Marketing organizational initiatives. 
  • Manages a Global Marketing Specialist or Coordinator as assigned. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Marketing concentration or related field preferred 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience, including marketing strategy and high-impact marketing communications with responsibility for results, including costs and methods 
  • Experience in marketing to IT customers is required 
  • Significant project management experience with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time 
  • Experience sourcing and managing external marketing agencies required 
  • Experience coaching and developing a direct report 
  • Able to provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies 
  • Experience with advising direct reports on how to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems 
  • Demonstrated ability of working on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends 
  • Demonstrated experience in determining the best use of resources to meet goals of assignments received in the form of objectives 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cooperative efforts and facilitate constructive discussion among a wide range of cross-functional partners 
  • Excellent proof reading skills with an eye for correct grammar and an ear for good copy 
  • Strong visual sense with the ability to evaluate graphic layouts for both style and impact 
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to efficiently work in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Able to follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions 
  • Able to develop and administer schedules and establish performance requirements
