We are currently recruiting for a Client Relations Director based in either our Chicago or Milwaukee office. Quarles & Brady LLP, an Am Law118 firm, with more than 500 lawyers is seeking a strategic-minded professional to serve as Client Relations Director.

This is one of four Director roles leading the business development efforts of the firm. This position primarily supports the following practice groups and industry teams as well as several client service teams:

  • Business Law
  • Real Estate
  • Public Finance
  • Franchise
  • Financial Services

The Director supervises two Client Relations Specialists (CRS) who assist with the execution of the group's/team's plan.

  • Serve as the point of contact and trusted advisor to practice group leaders and assist them with the development and implantation of a business plan.
  • Create actionable strategies that drive business development resulting in the attraction, retention and expansion of clients.
  • Coordinate with the subject matter experts of the department [web, social media, PR, communications] to create awareness activities that generate strong ROI.
  • Collaborate with the department's business development coach to identify targets and create plans to pursue them.
  • Develop deep knowledge and relationships with practice group leaders and the attorneys to ensure advice is relevant and meaningful.
  • Reinforce the firm's goal of a ratio of 70% business development and 30% marketing/awareness for all client relations activities.
  • Work closely with the Chief Client Relations Officer (CCRO) to create a comprehensive plan to expand revenue from existing clients and develop new revenue from new clients.
  • Work with the partners to market and develop new business opportunities. Identify client leads, support theattorneys in the preparation of presentations and proposals, prepare the attorney to contact the lead, and follow-up with the attorney.
  • Leads efforts related to content development for practice group-specific marketing collateral.
  • Oversees practice group-specific proposals, pitches and responses to RFP's.
  • Ensures that new lateral partner hires are fully integrated and that information about their practice and experience is internally and externally communicated.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience in a marketing/business development function.Must have leadership qualities to recruit, utilize and guide staff in business development area.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal relations, written and oral communication skills required.
  • Strong customer service attitude required.
  • Needs to work well under pressure and be an excellent problem-solver and team player.
  • Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail is necessary.
