Summary 
Description

The Director of Communication leads a team of communication professionals responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive communication plan that aligns with and advances the mission and strategic goals of Children’s Hospital. On both a daily and long-term basis, this includes proactive internal communication, change management, media relations, social media, constituent communication, and all crisis-related communication. The Director for Communication also provides counsel to senior administrators on public issues, both in the anticipation of public relation and the preparation of responses.

Qualifications

Ten years of senior-level communication strategy and public relations experience and four years of supervisory experience are required for this position. Be able to demonstrate knowledge of communication principles for change movement as well as have a proven ability to work directly with senior-level executives and volunteers, including members of the board of directors. Must have experience in crisis communication planning and response, knowledge of local and national print, broadcast and online media, and the ability to manage multiple projects and thrive under pressure. Have the desire and ability to promote and support a team atmosphere, as well as a creative thinker who is highly motivated.
