Under the general direction of the Deputy Secretary, this position is responsible for the supervision of Marketing and Vendor Services in the Department of Tourism.

Responsibilities include the program areas of paid media, international and group marketing, publication design, development, content and printing, diversity marketing, meetings and conventions, sports marketing, and research. This position also supervises the production of the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism, Travel Green Wisconsin and the work of marketing and research vendors. Of primary importance to this position is supervising staff, ensuring the brand platform is consistently applied across all marketing channels in promoting travel to Wisconsin’s scenic, historic, artistic, educational, and recreational sites, overseeing program budgets and the shared responsibility for total integration among all paid, earned and owned marketing assets.

Extensive knowledge of collecting and applying marketing research. Ability to develop, write and evaluate marketing plans. Strong leadership and supervision skills. Knowledge of effective team building concepts and techniques. Ability to develop and manage budgets. Strong personnel and program management skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate (written and oral) at all levels. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office software.

A background check will be conducted on any hire new to state service. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.

Starting salary up to $65,000 annually with excellent benefits.
