Share your excellent written and verbal communication skill—plus your digital media savvy—with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in Madison. AACD is looking for a Communications Specialist to engage in the development and implementation of internal and external communications initiatives and projects including institutional writing, promotional copy, social media implementation, press releases, media relations, digital marketing, and project management. 

Under the direction of the Chief Marketing Officer, the Communications Specialist develops compelling and engaging copy to grow and retain members and drive other program metrics. All writing should conform to, and be consistent with, AACD’s corporate brand voice.

  • As a part of AACD’s in-house marketing team, create and produce innovative and targeted advertising and marketing copy and messages for AACD’s membership, prospective members, and other stakeholder audiences including the general public
  • Plan, write, edit, and publish company communications Work closely as a member of the marketing team to ensure accuracy and timely deployment of communications to include project management
  • Translate product and service positioning objectives into compelling, benefit-driven copy optimized for delivery through various marketing channels
  • Deploy communications and promotions through multiple traditional and digital tools
  • Execute messaging through various channels including print, collateral, publications, direct mail, e-mail, web, and social media; monitor trends and analytics and apply that knowledge to increasing engagement and results
  • Help create and manage a comprehensive social media strategy to increase visibility and awareness
  • Consistently deliver clear, concise, credible copy that is on-target with the marketing and communications strategy
  • College Degree (BS/BA) in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or an equivalent field.
  • Direct experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Familiarity with email service provider (ESP) interfaces and website content management systems (CMS), and other digital marketing platforms and techniques strongly preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of communications/writing experience required with a track record of creative writing and marketing conceptualization skills.
  • PR and media relations experience/knowledge strongly preferred
  • Well organized, team player with a cheerful attitude and a service orientation
  • Understanding of social media principles and best practices
  •  Prior experience working with or in an advertising agency or in an in-house marketing department preferred
