Working in a corporate marketing department will provide you with a comprehensive, integrated marketing communications experience, where you will expand the Consolidated brand, reputation, awareness and message. You’ll craft the “voice” of Consolidated, by planning, creating and disseminating internal and external written communications and new project proposals.

Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Marketing Manager, you will produce engaging marketing communications and winning proposals. Some responsibilities will include:

Corporate Communications

  • Write, proof, and edit content for web, newsletters, blogs, technical articles, and product sell sheets. Interview internal and external technical experts, conduct research. Provide content and direction to graphic designers and developers for digital communications. Stay abreast of new construction technology, industry trends and opportunities.
  • Write and disseminate corporate and construction project press releases. Develop story pitches, write, present and follow up with editors. Assist in the development and execution of an annual public relations plan and budget.
  • Prepare and present quarterly reports to leadership on public relations and communications activities. Establish and maintain tools for analytics and insight.
  • Develop and/or update copy for new collateral materials that complement and enhance the brand.
  • Research, plan and prepare award submissions for national and regional recognition.
  • Participate in other sales and marketing activities that involve written communications, including video script writing, advertising copy, social media posts, community outreach activities, etc.

Proposals

  • Oversee content and production of all proposals, including final review, assembly and delivery of final product.
  • With the project team, examine strategy and competition, and create and execute a tailored plan for each new proposal or presentation.
  • With minimal oversight, execute the response plan to create a professional product that is informative, aesthetically pleasing, and meets all requirements of the RFP.
  • Generate custom copy to meet the specific requirements of each new RFP.
  • Gather and organize data from other departments, i.e. Safety, Accounting, Operations.
  • Create and update corporate resumes.
  • Create and maintain project data sheets, references and job lists.
  • Create, or work with the graphic designer to create, proposal document templates. Ensure the final product is clean, professional, and delivered prior to the RFP deadline.
  • With the project team and designer, prepare presentation materials for sales interviews (PowerPoint or other).
  • Research public notices and public meeting minutes to identify proposal opportunities.

We are seeking a creative optimist that can see “win-win” in any situation. In addition:

  • Minimum 4-year degree in English, Mass Communications or Journalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills illustrated in 4+ years of experience in a previous communications, writing, or public relations position.
  • Skilled in absorbing technical and industry information in order to produce written materials suitable for a variety of technical and non-technical audiences. Must love research.
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills, with a high degree of accountability and responsibility.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe InDesign. Prior experience using Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Above average organizational and project management skills. Prior experience in proposal writing a plus.
  • Able to confidently communicate in-person or via phone to the media, customers, and co-workers.
  • Must manage time effectively, and if necessary, work extended hours to meet RFP deadlines.
  • Illustrated reasonable understanding of the construction industry and related project vertical markets (education, manufacturing, hospitality, assisted living, food and beverage) a plus.
  • Exercise good judgement to reflect the company brand, style and policy.
  • Some domestic air or car travel may be necessary, but infrequent.
