The Creative Writer/Marketing Specialist serves as the copywriter and a project lead for Club’s advertising and marketing projects. The position will work hand in hand with Senior Manager of Marketing as Club’s day-to-day liaison with internal creative/social media team, the Marketing department and internal customers and other departments throughout the organization.

  • Write the copy for the Club’s advertising and marketing projects while working closely with the Senior Manager of Marketing to help with the development of all copy strategy.
  • Work closely with Senior Manager of Marketing, Creative/Social/Analytics teams and internal clients to develop strongest marketing product possible to reach the consumer.
  • Brainstorm new concepts (e.g. Season Seat Holder Renewal Collateral, Missing You Campaign, etc.) along with Senior Manager of Marketing and Creative/Social Media Team.
  • Team up with Senior Manager of Marketing, Creative/Social Team, and Marketing Coordinators to ensure clear processes and procedures for all marketing projects as well as overall project efficiencies/flow through the Marketing department.
  • Serve as point person (from creative brief submission to concept development to proofreading) for all internally-initiated advertising and marketing projects; work with each designer to brainstorm project headlines, write body copy, etc.
  • Attend all Creative Team meetings including brainstorming sessions, annual departmental project meetings, and weekly internal meetings to discuss concepts for current and upcoming marketing projects.
  • Proofread all advertising and marketing projects to ensure clear messaging and grammatical accuracy.
  • Maintain Copy ‘Style Guide’ for Marketing Department and consistent ‘voice’ for organization.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Marketing Coordinator on In-Game TV and radio drops.
  • Evaluate and research new Club opportunities, promotions, marketing, and advertising initiatives. (e.g. Brewers Enterprises events, promotions, new ticket drivers, Spring Training, etc.)
  • Oversee special projects as assigned (e.g. award submissions)

  • Must be highly creative, posses strong initiative and be detail-oriented
  • Exceptional copywriting and proofreading skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Strong baseball knowledge and passion for the game

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Work Hours:

Business hours are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5pm, however, this position may work additional hours on weekends, evenings and holidays based on the needs of the department.
