SUPERVISES:

Administrative supervision is exercised over a variety of professional and administrative staff as assigned.

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, merge marketing and recruitment brand efforts; provide strategic and operational direction and implementation to support college and enrollment growth.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

  1. Supervise assigned staff members, including selection, performance management, professional development and succession planning. 
  2. Plan, develop and implement comprehensive, college-wide marketing and student recruitment strategies; establish policies and procedures for all marketing and recruiting activities of the College. 
  3. Monitor, measure and evaluate marketing and student recruitment efforts for effectiveness; establish benchmarks, develop supporting reports and communicate results. 
  4. Comply with all regulations and requirements related to publications, digital pieces and all marketing channels ensuring all marketing and recruiting assets are on-brand/consistent and that an evaluation process is in place. 
  5. Generate fresh, creative, original ideas for current and new marketing channels and methods. 
  6. Oversee the planning, coordination, promotion of special events and campaigns as they relate to College recruitment and enrollment. Develop effectiveness measures and provide analysis with recommendations.
  7. Collaborate with internal (other College departments and staff) and external stakeholders to assess needs, develop direction, and integrate marketing and recruiting efforts; maintain and evaluate relationships; facilitate and lead cross-functional team meetings. 
  8. Plan, budget, and allocate resources to maximize operational efficiency and support marketing and recruiting objectives in accordance with College policies and procedures. 
  9. Represent the College in its relationship, alliances and partnerships with outside agencies and businesses; contract with, and direct the activities of, outside agencies to effectively market the College.

Position Information:

This is a full-time, Management Level 8, 12-month per calendar year position. Hours will be scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Salary is listed at the 2017-2018 rates.

Interviews:

Selected candidates will be invited to interview mid-August. Out of state candidates, or candidates more than 100 miles from WCTC can choose to attend, or will have an option to use Skype. All candidates who are invited to the second interview MUST be in person. Travel will be reimbursed up to $300.00 (for the second interview only).

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:

  1. Knowledge of current marketing principles and techniques.
  2. Knowledge of communications, advertising, and graphic arts/design concepts.
  3. Understanding of programming as it relates to website concepts and social media development; skill with web design and content management.
  4. Skill with various software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, graphic design, database maintenance and various technology applications.
  5. Knowledge of budget preparation and management.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of staff, media representatives, Board members, community, and the public.
  8. Ability to use sound judgment when dealing with sensitive and/or confidential College information.
  9. Ability to prioritize individual and department work assignments and projects.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Management or related field (Master's preferred).
  2. Five years progressively responsible experience in advertising or marketing which includes recent management responsibilities.
  3. Knowledge of, or experience with, student recruitment in higher education preferred.
