The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford seeks applications for a full-time Director of Marketing & Public Relations. This position is responsible for planning, development and implementation of the College of Medicine Rockford marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal.

Duties include:

  • Serving as a member and advisor on the College of Medicine Rockford leadership team.
  • Directing the marketing efforts and executing action plans to reach the College’s short and long-term strategic planning goals.
  • Acting as the public relations spokesperson for the UIC Health Science Rockford campus.
  • Ensuring consistent articulation of the College and University’s image and position to all constituents in support of their mission and vision.

Rockford is a progressive, mid-sized metropolitan area in northern Illinois, west of Chicago. The city has minor league baseball and hockey, numerous golf courses, award-winning park system, three botanical gardens, art museum, theaters, a revitalizing downtown, and river walk. Public and several private school systems are available.

 

 

Candidates for this position must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Business or closely related field. Master’s degree in similar fields preferred. Three years of professional experience in marketing, public affairs, and/or strategic communication with at least two years in a management or supervisory role.
