The purpose of the Director of Marketing (also referred to as DM) position is drive Magellan Promotions’ growth through gaining new clients and increasing sales to current customers. This will be achieved through various direct and indirect marketing activities. To accomplish this, the DM position encapsulates a wide range of responsibilities, including managing, and maintaining creative digital assets, outreach initiatives, conference planning, maximizing client interaction opportunities and maintenance of data. In addition, the DM will become an evangelist of the power of promotional products, using industry data, case studies and external information to support the “why” in marketing initiatives.
The key digital responsibilities for this position revolve around content creation and maintenance of the Magellan Promotions website. This includes managing and updating the website to provide positive first impressions and a favorable user experience. The DM will also be responsible for reviewing the effectiveness of digital content and maximizing SEO opportunities. Created content includes, but is not limited to, blogs, case studies, and sell sheets. This content will also be shared directly with our customers via monthly e-newsletters. The DM will also manage all content for the Magellan Promotions’ social media pages and be responsible for engaging and growing our social audiences.
Magellan Promotions regularly sends promotional product targeted mailings and electronic marketing messages to clients and prospects. The Director of Marketing will be responsible for identifying solution-based opportunities, coordination and execution of these marketing initiatives in conjunction with the Director of Accounts. The DM will create and edit all promotional content for Magellan Promotions, and this position must be able to demonstrate excellent writing skills, specifically tailored for sales.
Throughout the year, Magellan Promotions participates in two to three major industry trade shows and events. The Director of Marketing will manage these events and ensure flawless implementation of strategy and work to make sure that our strategic goals are attained.
The Director of Marketing will also be responsible for the creation of various client programs, including an onboarding and touchpoint program, referral process, and client feedback surveys.
Finally, the Director of Marketing will be responsible for maintaining our client lists and segmenting that data by industry, channel and geographic region. When necessary, this position will perform market research, competitive analysis, and product research to ensure that Magellan Promotions stays an industry leader in promotional products marketing.
