This position plays a key role within the Recruitment Strategy Team in the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) Educational Innovation Professional Development (EIPD) team. The team manages the student recruitment strategy and recruitment process from point-of-inquiry through enrollment for the University of Wisconsin- Madison Advance Your Career (AYC) flexible and online credit programs (https://advanceyourcareer.wisc.edu/). This role demands a high level of collaboration, coordination and organization, effective communication skills particularly with diverse populations, skills in problem solving, public speaking and demonstrated ability to succeed in dynamic, fast-paced team environments. The key responsibilities for this role include: recruiting students from new lead through enrollment via phone, mail, events, and digital technologies; tracking successful recruitment strategies to influence new marketing and recruitment tactics; and developing relationships with businesses, other schools, and alumni to support program and industry specific recruitment efforts.

Principle Duties:

Advance Your Career Student Recruitment (80%)

  • Recruit students for specific programs within the Advance Your Career (AYC) flexible and online credit programs portfolio (https://advanceyourcareer.wisc.edu/) to meet established program enrollment goals
  • Implement recruitment plan to reach qualified candidates including but not limited to: outbound calls, direct mail, digital campaigns such as email, chat, text messaging, connecting students to campus resources, application completion support, and accepted to enrolled support to maximize lead to enrolled student conversions and optimize resources measured by cost per conversion
  • Coordinate, schedule, manage and staff graduate student engagement and recruitment events and activities specific to the programs within their portfolio (for example fairs, conferences, trade schools, lunch and learns at businesses (includes travel)
  • Meet with, present to, and advise prospective graduate students and their influencers regarding the University of Wisconsin, and its academic programs and opportunities, and the school's/programs admission policies and procedures
  • Develop contacts/linkages within businesses, other institutions of higher education, and alumni within their portfolio-
  • Serve as an articulate spokesperson for the mission and values of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Division of Continuing Studies, and the Advance Your Career Programs Campus

Collaboration and Committee Service (10%)

  • Serve as liaison and foster intentional relationships with the AYC programs, other recruiters on campus and at other schools, offices, schools/colleges, and departments, as well as with the Graduate School
  • Represent the Recruitment Strategy Team in the Division of Continuing Studies Educational Innovation Professional Development team on appropriate university and school committees and initiatives

Administrative and Other (10%)

  • Support the work of the recruitment strategy unit overall, contributing as needed to initiatives and events for AYC and DCS
  • Serve as an engaged member of the Recruitment Strategy Team in the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) Educational Innovation Profession Development (EIPD) team, participate in office meetings and staff development opportunities, and contribute to initiatives/programs associated with the campus, DCS, and EIPD
  • Engage in professional development activities, including but not limited to, memberships in professional organizations, attendance at conferences and workshops, and participation in training sessions
  • Work to support and enhance the diversity and climate of the Division of Continuing Studies- Perform administrative responsibilities and supervise projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in college student development, student affairs, higher education, sales, business, marketing, advertising, communication, or a related field.
  • At least three years of professional experience (including relevant internships) in one or more of the following areas: college admissions and recruitment, academic affairs, student services, academic program management, sales, marketing, advertising, communications, customer service. Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications
  • Experience with the following applications and software preferred: Student Information Systems (preferably PeopleSoft), Project management software (preferably WorkZone), Marketing Automation tools (preferably Eloqua), CRM tools
  • Proven success meeting deadlines and goals while managing multiple projects
  • Experience communicating with various project stakeholders
  • Experience working autonomously and on a team
