Summary:

Serve as a critical member of the global communications team by providing support across a range of public relations and external communications activities. Support the implementation of initiatives designed to promote awareness of Hyatt brands as well as protect the company’s reputation and mitigate risk. Work across the global communications team to execute programming that elevates the awareness of and creates broader engagement with Hyatt’s purpose and brand-led strategy. Provide communications and executive visibility counsel and support for a variety of internal clients, including Hyatt Sales Force, development, masterbrand marketing, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tactical support to the global communications team across all areas of Hyatt’s business 
  • Help to plan and execute communications programs for select projects across Hyatt’s brands 
  • Act as a liaisons between Global Communications team and Consumer Insights; strength measurement of communications tactics to align with target consumer segments and business goals 
  • Provide tactical support to the global communications team across all areas of Hyatt’s business, including but not limited to Hyatt Sales Force, development and masterbrand marketing 
  • Help to plan and execute communications programs for select projects across Hyatt’s brands 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for global communications team resources, including media monitoring and measurement tools (Bulletin Intelligence, Meltwater, newsroom, BusinessWire) 
  • Work in close collaboration across a variety of projects with multiple internal teams, including legal, global security, human resources, investor relations, e-commerce, etc. 
  • Manage global communications team budget and brand agency budget, partnering with finance to track spending 
  • Work closely with director of corporate communications and corporate security to gather information and manage distribution of Special Situations Response Plan (SSRP) 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values.

Experience:

  • 3-4 years of experience, PR agency or in house corporate communications experience 
  • Strong media relations experience 
  • Detail-oriented project manager

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing or communications 

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job:

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs 
  • Experience with Cision or Meltwater preferred

Additional Comments and Requirements:

  • Strong project management skills; experience tracking invoices and/or managing a budget preferred 
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal skills 
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple internal clients, multitasking responsibilities, meeting deadlines, and be accommodating to urgent projects 
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills and the ability to act with confidence in dealing with various levels and functions
