The Inbound Marketing Specialist will work in a unique role that combines lead generation, prospecting, and technical customer support. Utilizing Pardot® (leading marketing automation platform), the specialist will prospect warm and hot leads, and have a direct opportunity to generate revenue.

Additionally, the Inbound Marketing Specialist will consistently review lead sources and make recommendations based on which are performing best. The specialist will report to the Marketing Manager – Inbound and Operations.

Job Function:

  • Plays a key role in Smalley’s lead generation strategy and identify new prospects to help grow our business. Optimizes lead acquisition processes and provide input for improvements
  • Contacts prospects via telephone/email to gain understanding of their needs, identify decision makers, buying influencers, budget and timeline. Maintains and updates an accurate log of activities in the CRM and Marketing Automation system
  • Builds and cultivates prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel
  • Responds to all emails including those sent directly and from the main company email address. Responds in a timely manner with accurate and complete answers. Works to anticipate future questions or issues from the customer for the problem and give a complete solution.
  • Captures information regarding potential OEM’s and other key customers from dealings with customers passes that information on to the appropriate sales personnel. Performance rating will be based on quality of information.
  • Serve as a product expert. Continually learns about existing products and is proactive in keeping up on new products released. Strives to learn product markets, applications, competition, and competitive advantages.
  • Conducts market, competitor, and customer research. Collects and analyzes data. Prepares reports and summaries of research. Assists in development of monthly Marketing team metrics report
  • Evaluates lead sources (including email campaigns, webinars, trade shows/conferences, website, advertising, etc.) to understand value and make proposals to maximize lead generation results
  • Act as a liaison between Marketing and Sales, assisting in the development of new campaign ideas, customer research, etc.
  • Participate in training and/or company-attended trade shows where needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or equivalent preferred 
  • Minimum 2-3 years B2B Sales or Marketing 
  • Experience with Pardot or other Marketing Automation software a plus 
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions 
  • Collaborative and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) 
  • Minimal travel required (3-4 trips per year, generally 2-3 days a trip)
