Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Digital Design

  • Work with marketing and merchandising team to design and develop creative assets to support business goals
  • Primarily work within marketing department for overall marketing design needs but will also support some business development digital asset creation
  • Design for all aspects of web, including desktop, mobile, tablet, email, display ads, and social media assets
  • Design short digital catalogs each season, collaborating with the merchandising team and external copywriters

Brand Standards Creative Direction & Execution

  • Create a brand style guide for the Merchology company brand, including logo variations, typography choices, expanded color palette, and photography guidance
  • Take everyday photography and coordinate with professional photographer partners for more extensive photoshoots

Email Marketing Execution

  • Hands on email deployment (list segmentation, creative development, post-implementation analysis)
  • Work with Digital Marketing Manager to implement a testing plan for key email components such as subject lines, CTAs, and imagery
  • Work with Digital Marketing Manager to develop strategies, content, and reports for both promotional and automated emails

Social Media Strategy & Execution

  • Design, edit, publish, and share daily content (text, images, video, or HTML) that builds meaningful connections with Merchology customers and prospects and encourages community members to take action
  • Work with Digital Marketing Manager and CMO to create cross-platform editorial calendars that sync with the strategy and seasonality of the business
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, web/graphic design or related field 
  • Extensive experience working in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) 
  • Proven experience working in graphic design and social media marketing or email marketing (2-5 years preferred) 
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (text/photo/design), presentation, and communication skills 
  • Understanding of HTML and email design best practices across desktop, mobile, and tablet 
  • Must be flexible about working in a high-growth, evolving company, with awareness about the opportunities and challenges that come with a highly adaptive environment

Desired Skills (Not Required):

  • Experience working in an email marketing automation tool (HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, etc.) 
  • Analytics experience (Google Analytics, social media analytics tools, email analytics) 
  • Knowledge of professional photography best practices
