Intern - Marketing Communications

If you have excellent writing skills and classroom writing experience as well as knowledge of basic design concepts, join the creative Marketing team at SECURA Insurance. Enhance your resume and gain real-world experience in a corporate environment. You’ll learn how to write for the SECURA brand, while assisting in a variety of marketing communication projects and social media efforts. This is a paid position. During the school year, it is part time, 15-20 hours per week, based on your class schedule and our company’s business hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the summer, the position is 40 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in writing, proofing, and editing articles for weekly internal newsletter, as well as layout of the publication.
• Assist posting, monitoring and analytics within social media and blog.
• Assist with deadline-driven communications projects for various departments and events.
• Update Web site and Intranet.
• Take digital pictures for use in publications and promotions.

ESSENTIAL:

• Be enrolled in a four-year program and majoring in journalism, communications, or marketing.
• Have superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Have the ability to take direction and manage multiple projects.
• Have strong computer skills.
• Have experience working in Word and various design software.

This is a paid internship. It is 15-20 hours per week during school and 40 hours per week during summer.
