Assists Senior Manager and Assistant Director in executing media relations programs; communicates with various committee volunteers, reporters and other external contacts; works in the annual meeting newsroom; writes press releases and develops other materials for media relations projects; manages media relations web content; monitors and tracks media coverage and interaction; prepares various coverage reports.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assists in planning and execution of the monthly Radiology press release program. 
  • Manages web content on Media page. 
  • Works in the Newsroom at the RSNA annual meeting, assisting media, conducting presenter interviews and managing exhibitor relations. 
  • Assists with media registration for the annual meeting. 
  • Assists in scientific abstract review process for annual meeting. 
  • Works closely with members of the Public Information Advisors Network (PIAN). 
  • Manages tracking and reporting of media coverage. 
  • Manages media contact lists. 
  • Researches and writes scientific and non-scientific press releases and assists in distribution. 
  • Performs media relations administrative tasks, such as proofreading, scheduling and aware submission.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field 
  • Experience in all aspects of public relations, including developing and writing press releases and related materials 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience in project management, from concept to execution 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects 
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills 
  • Attention to details and deadlines 
  • Ability to direct projects and coordinate deadlines with outside contractors 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop; experience with video production/editing and Cision and Critical Mention media monitoring tools a plus.
