This person provides writing, editing and communications counsel for a variety of communications media and takes a leadership role in specific subject matter areas or media. Position is responsible for creative conceptualizing and execution of high profile, complex assignments in partnership with designer and team members. Responsibilities include creative concept development with designer and writing/content development for a wide variety of communications that can include print collateral/brochures, direct mail, print ads, publications, member materials, presentations, videos, events, speeches, and web content.

Accountabilities:

  • Works collaboratively with team members, and internal business partner as appropriate, to develop strategic communications vehicles that help meet business goals and objectives. 
  • Researches, develops, writes and edits and proofreads materials for primarily external audiences within established timelines. 
  • Serves as a member of integrated communications teams. 
  • Takes on a consultative and/or team lead role with team members on selected projects or subject areas. 
  • Responsible for development, documentation, and application of brand voice and messaging in all marketing projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in the communications, marketing or journalism field, and 7 years of related work experience, or 11 years of related experience in lieu of degree. 
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of and experience in writing for marketing communications. 
  • Strong conceptual and copywriting skills, as evidenced by portfolio. 
  • Highly developed area of expertise in specific subject matter area or media. 
  • Excellent communication skills and strong strategic thinking skills. 
  • Positive, proactive, organized and able to meet deadlines. 
  • Learns complex topics quickly. 
  • Versatile / flexible / adaptable. 
  • Ability to collaborate on complex, cross-functional projects.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working with Medicare products and knowledge of health insurance regulations at both the state and federal levels. 
  • Knowledge of HTML, Drupal and web content management. 
  • Experience using Articulate Storyline and Adobe InDesign software.
