SERRV International is hiring a Marketing & Brand Manager in Madison, Wisconsin.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced marketing professional to be part of a dynamic mission. SERRV is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing poverty by selling handcrafts and foods made by artisans and farmers in impoverished parts of the world.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record developing integrated brand and marketing strategies, and be adept at pursuing unique and cost-effective publicity methods. This high-energy individual will enjoy driving creativity and enthusiasm in others, and have a passion for what we do.

Reporting to the chief executive officer (CEO), the Marketing and Brand Manager will be integral to helping enhance our brand’s awareness, appeal and reputation, and growing sales of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee our marketing team, prioritizing and managing day-to-day activities, allocating resources and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Expand awareness of our products and mission by developing and maintaining a compelling SERRV brand, voice and message to our customers and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement integrated brand, marketing, and communication strategies to increase revenue in both our B2B and B2C channels.
  • Oversee development, execution and cost efficiency of catalog and brand campaigns, retail promotions, and customer acquisition programs.
  • Enhance our customer experience online, increasing traffic, sales and customer-generated content. Generate SEO / SEM friendly content to increase search engine visibility.
  • Enhance our social media presence and email marketing program, effectively leveraging customer contacts and increasing subscription / retention rates.
  • Work collaboratively with Merchandising and Sales to develop promotion plans for new and existing products, point-of-purchase displays and sales collateral. Measure and assess ROI performance of all marketing activities.
  • Continuously analyze competitive environment, consumer and marketing trends. Leverage customer insights, analytics and market trends to develop and oversee execution of marketing plans. Rigorously test new ideas to allow for data-informed business decisions.
  • Improve messaging and story-telling to promote our mission. Oversee a Public Relations strategy and content development of interest to editors.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors, including printers, digital consultants and direct-mail database management providers.
  • Be deeply committed to furthering our mission; helping build our impact in the market and in the lives of our artisans and farmers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related field.
  • 7+ years progressively responsible experience in marketing, brand development and PR / communications.
  • A proven track record developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies that increase revenue, conversion and new customer acquisition.
  • Solid knowledge of best practices in retail marketing, including both direct-mail and e-commerce platforms.
  • Experience overseeing development of compelling sales and product offers, promotional copy and campaign layouts, with the ability to convert customers online using offline channels.
  • Catalog experience a strong asset, with an ability to conceptualize layout/ messaging and optimize direct-mail performance.
  • Ability to perform market analysis, response rate and lead generation analysis. A consistent use of data, market research and testing to inform recommendations and decisions.
  • Knowledge of web analytics (ex. Google Analytics) and Google Adwords, and experience leading a team responsible for digital marketing strategy / performance.
  • Experience in media relations, with proof of editorial influence.
  • Strong conceptual and strategic skills. An ability to blend analytical and creative thinking.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to spot branding opportunities and optimize sales performance with limited resources.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills. A proven track record managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to carry out responsibilities in a fair and ethical manner, in keeping with our mission and values.
