Summary + Objective:

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator reports to the Communications Manager and supports the implementation and execution of FamilyFarmed’s marketing and communications plan. This position develops original content and suggests creative ways to attract more customers and promote our brand, to ultimately increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies and FamilyFarmed’s mission. This position coordinates FamilyFarmed’s social media presence by creating, building and maintaining a strong online following and implementing our online marketing strategy through social media accounts.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and update multiple websites. 
  • Perform analytics and prepare reports. 
  • Respond to and troubleshoot feedback from public users. 
  • Planning/designing/executing Facebook ads and boosts. 
  • Write, compile, edit and regularly send e-newsletters to general and specific audiences in email marketing program. Manage e-marketing calendar and software program and monitor e-marketing reports. 
  • Implement our Marketing and Communications plan: duties to include assisting with marketing and outreach by posting to listservs and circulating content to partner organizations; assisting with rebranding process; streamlining internal communications processes and brand collateral; updating information on external websites; monitoring usage, metrics and impact as it relates to marketing and communications activities; and, maintaining marketing files such as photos, logos, documents and other graphics. 
  • Manage photo library and routinely pull, edit, resize, crop and post graphics and photos. 
  • Assist with preparing PowerPoint presentations. 
  • Table at events representing the organization. 
  • Contribute to ongoing efforts to streamline and improve systems and processes. 
  • Create and coordinate production schedules and maintain ongoing relationships with graphic designers, printers and photographers. 
  • Evaluate and negotiate vendor contracts including graphic designers and photographers. 
  • Manage ad creation (web and print), oversee and daily manage marketing assets (design and development). 
  • Manage art direction for postcards, web banner ads and other miscellaneous design.

  • Communications, e-marketing and website management experience 
  • Solid working knowledge of communications concepts, trends and best practices 
  • Excellent analytical and problemā€solving skills 
  • Solid working knowledge of WordPress, Google for Business suite, Microsoft Office suite, multiple social media platforms, and Constant Contact. 
  • Excellent customer service and administrative skills 
  • Experienced communicator able to write, edit and proofread communications for different audiences 
  • Ability to shift gears smoothly and maintain momentum on multiple assignments 
  • Self-directed and self-motivated team player who thrives supporting teams, leaders and initiatives 
  • Initiative, integrity, organizational skills, attention to detail, time management and multiple priority management

Required Education and Experience:

  • BS or BA degree in Marketing, New media or relevant field 
  • Paid work experience and expertise in multiple social media platforms 
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics 
  • Solid working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, llustrator and InDesign 
  • Ability to design both web and print collateral 
  • Ability to deliver creative content under tight deadlines (text, image and video) 
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels 
  • Ability to grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Multitasking and analytical skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience with development, events, reporting and evaluation 
  • Passion for supporting nonprofits and the Good Food movement 
  • Video production and editing skills (need own equipment)

Full-time, permanent, salaried, exempt employee. Compensation is nonprofit competitive and commensurate with experience and skill level.
