The role of the Marketing & Communications Specialist is to provide support for all aspects of marketing and communication for assigned areas. This position will provide direction and lead development for collateral materials, prospect, customer and internal communication, and other stakeholder facing tools.

  • Develop and maintain content related to the organization’s business objectives and performance, and key strategic initiatives for both internal and external audiences.
  • Write and edit content that informs and engages audiences; ensures audience needs and feedback is incorporated to improve deliverables as needed.
  • Collaborate on the production and distribution of content through various channels with marketing team members.
  • Contribute to sales and marketing creative strategies by helping develop more effective means of communicating product value and key benefits.
  • Manage marketing activities and campaigns to ensure projects are completed on-time.
  • Participate on teams as necessary to develop marketing and communications plans for key organizational projects.
  • Support communications goals by conceptualizing, writing and editing a full range of communications including print, digital, and audiovisual communications on behalf of business groups, operating companies and corporate functions.
  • Plan, develop and direct the execution of marketing campaigns (advertising, direct marketing, email/digital marketing, tradeshow marketing, sponsorships, etc.) for increased awareness to aid in growth and retention.
  • Create, maintain and track campaigns including reporting on results and adjustments to improve effectiveness.
  • Serve as a resource to departments in a consulting role on their marketing and communications needs/methods.
  • Support PR and social media efforts in coordination with other marketing team members.
  • Support senior management in the creation of presentations and other communications.
  • Work collaboratively with our sales and account management teams to train staff and contracted vendors on conducting effective worksite meetings and to effectively execute worksite marketing strategies. Be a resource to staff and attend (as needed) agent or employer meetings and help promote the benefits of our worksite marketing strategies.
  • Special projects and duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing communications or communications related field and three - five years of experience in marketing and communications
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to adapt style to suit various needs and audiences
  • Professional presentation skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Access is preferred
