Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director of B2C Marketing, this position is responsible for leading, planning and executing strategic marketing programs that drive foot traffic into GGP malls and support key tenant initiatives. The Marketing Manager will also provide traditional and digital marketing support to mall property teams. This includes creating, editing, distributing and optimizing relevant and contextual marketing content across digital marketing properties (social media platforms and mall web sites) and in-market/in-property to attract, engage and retain shoppers.

Key Responsibilities:

Project manage the creation, delivery and optimization of marketing campaigns – from large/complex to short/specific – that utilize a broad marketing mix to position GGP and its retail properties strongly in the market and drive engagement, mall traffic, increased shopper spend and frequency of visits, and awareness of GGP’s tenant portfolio

Leverage consumer research to promote and optimize content that resonates with GGP’s key shopper segments

Partner with local retail property teams to:

  • escalate and resolve shopper inquiries and conflicts
  • determine creative requirements for barricades
  • ensure property specific marketing messaging is clear for investment projects like renovations and other development projects
  • liaise with creative and property teams to request, print and install signage

Create, edit and publish content to mall web sites and social media platforms, and follow quality assurance standards

Continuously monitor, measure and report social media activities, trends and campaign results; delivering insights to drive continuous improvement and reinvestment strategies

Strictly and diligently manage marketing program budgets

Collaborate with Corporate Public Relations to respond to mall specific media inquiries

Research and maintain expertise in current and emerging web and social media sites and platforms

Partner with SEO lead to ensure web sites are search optimized and aligned with editorial guidelines and brand standards

Provide regular status reports and briefings to stakeholders and functional leadership teams

Represent team as marketing subject matter expert, consult with internal and external partners to ideate and deliver marketing strategies and plans

Manage and prioritize work effectively to ensure internal deadlines, timetables and approvals are met

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or relate field required, Master’s degree preferred 
  • 6+ years of B2C marketing experience, including digital and retail marketing experience 
  • 3+ years’ experience in digital marketing 
  • Strong experience with strategic planning and project management

Core Skills and Characteristics:

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment 
  • In-depth knowledge of both traditional and digital marketing and ability to lead the development of creative and innovative marketing campaigns 
  • Strong competency and experience with using social media as a business while keeping an eye on emerging social trends 
  • Experience with key technology enablers, including, but not limited to social media publishing and monitoring applications (Adobe Social, Shoutlet, Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Crimson Hexagon, Radian6 or similar), content management systems (Adobe Experience Manager experience a plus), website analytics (Adobe or Google), and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver) 
  • Expert level knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is critical 
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS with an understanding of web site architecture and navigation a plus 
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices, and experience applying those to web sites and digital programs 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency in copywriting and proofreading 
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time and weekend and evening hours may be required
