Under supervision and in collaboration with the Public Relations Senior Manager, the position is responsible for implementing Public Relations strategies that result in the development of a favorable public image for Associated Bank as well as designated lines of business (LOBs). This involves implementing and tracking Public Relations/Community Relations activities.

Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesn’t meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources or Corporate Security, or can be reported through Associated’s anonymous Ethics Hotline.

  • Assist in the alignment of public relations activities with internal communications for maximum effectiveness and resource allocation.
  • Maintain timely and effective external communications that are aligned with the company’s business strategies.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Prepare news stories, press releases, talking points, media reports, colleague bios, and holding statements. This includes writing and distributing releases for marketing initiatives, product introductions and promotions, community events and major contributions, branch events, banking trends, and other newsworthy activities.
  • Provide public relations support and media interaction for designated line of businesses, as well as corporate.
  • Assist in development and implementation of an annual public relations plan for Associated Bank.
  • Assist with Corporate Communications activities as assigned.
  • Provide public relations leadership for regional initiatives.

Education:

  • Required - Bachelor's Degree Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations
  • Preferred - Master's Degree Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations or related field

Experience:

  • Required - 4-7 years Public relations, journalism or corporate communications experience. Financial services experience a plus.
  • Preferred - 7-10 years Public relations, journalism or corporate communications experience. Financial services experience a plus.
