Job Summary:
As Public Relations Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with local and national media outlets nationwide, interact with Best Buys vendor partners and be part of an energetic, in-house Public Relations team who drives tens of thousands of media stories a year for one of the leading retailers in the country.
You will focus on providing media relations support for local and regional PR activities, including building and maintaining relationships with reporters, editors, and producers to effectively pitch and fulfill stories. You will be involved in both proactive and reactive media relations and assist in creating strategic communication plans for a variety of product categories and projects in partnership with Best Buy vendor partners.
The ideal candidate will skillfully manage multiple projects, have a passion for interacting with reporters daily and be able to quickly understand topics/issues and translate material into media news.
