We’re seeking a professional in our Milwaukee office who excels at public relations, is a consummate team player and independent problem solver. The ideal senior associate candidate will have four to six years’ experience (agency experience a must), strong media relationships, sound writing skills and a desire to work in a fast-paced, non-hierarchal, collaborative environment that recognizes and rewards excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Client relationship management. Get to know our clients’ business, people and goals. Use that information to develop targeted communication strategies. Maintain and grow client relationships through proactive thinking, responsive counsel and continual results.
  • Media relations. Build and maintain successful working relationships with local, regional and national media; write attention getting media alerts, news releases and case studies; see the story/interview process through from end to end. The ideal candidate will also plan client openings, special events and press conferences.
  • Writing/content development. Tell the client’s story with the right messages to the right audience. Excellent writing skills and proofreading capabilities required.
  • Social media strategy and execution. Develop creative ideas and execute social media strategies on a variety of platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Four to six years’ experience. Agency experience a must. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related field. 
  • Highly developed verbal, copywriting, proofreading and grammar skill; mastery of AP Style. 
  • Proven experience with media relations strategy, research and execution at the local and national level. 
  • Experience with developing social media strategies and executing social media tactics is a plus. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. 
  • Creative thinker with strong interpersonal communications. 
  • Team oriented, strong work ethic and “get it done” attitude. 
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and ability to work well under pressure. 
  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and new media.
