Rockline Industries is in search of a dynamic individual who can bring energy and excitement to the baby wipes category in the role as Senior Category Product Manager. 

As Senior Category Product Manager, you will assure your product line assortments within your categories are robust and competitive when compared to relevant brand benchmarks and other private label offerings. You will collaborate with the Director, Product Management to develop and explore possible new product offerings that present attractive business opportunities within the company’s strategic framework. The position is viewed as a trusted partner to Sales, providing actionable intelligence, insights & product information for key account presentations in order to help win major new business and/or launch pivotal new products. This role will work closely with Global Product Development (GPD), Market Research, Project Management & Product Data Management teams to proactively initiate new product launches, category/consumer research, cost savings initiatives and product improvements.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert for their assigned categories providing product roadmaps and actionable category intelligence that will ensure that the company’s offerings are positioned for broad success in the marketplace. 
  • Key collaborator with Sales Directors to develop proper “selling story” in order to support overall Sales effectiveness in new/expanded distribution opportunities, line reviews, new product introductions, etc; attends Sales calls. 
  • Develops category strategy, working closely with Director to recommend ongoing category strategies, innovations and new product launches. 
  • Initiates, provides scope & oversees work with cross functional teams needed to deliver revenue and profit growth for assigned categories, including cost savings projects; product improvements, quality optimization and new product launches within the Rockline Product Management Process (RPMP). 
  • Initiates necessary consumer research, and harnesses information to make business recommendations/influence customer decisions, inform internal decisions. 
  • Prepares capital appropriation requests and runs Net Present Value to make recommendations to senior mgmt; works closely with manufacturing
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field is required; Masters Degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of business experience in one of the following functions: Marketing, Project Management, Sales, Product Development or related with at least 5 of those years in a business-to-business marketing or similar product management position required.
  • Experience working with mass market retailer private label is highly desired.
  • Baby wipes experience is highly desired; previous wipes or non-woven experience is also a plus. Consumer packaged goods maybe considered. 
  • Product management and people management skills are both required. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required as well as formal presentations.
  • Analytical capabilities must be finely honed – ability to handle heavy detail is required. Must be comfortable working across the business: Product Development, Operations, Sales, Project Management, Executive Familiarity with staged gate product development process is helpful, but not required.
  • Must have achieved the level of Product Manager or equivalent before being considered for this position. The Category Product Manager must have a career history that demonstrates a track record of success in marketing, category planning and/or product development. This experience will serve as the basis for acting independently in day to day decision-making on projects pertaining to assigned product categories.
  • Travel up to 20%.
