JOB SUMMARY (BRIEF):

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Senior Communications Specialist is a key contributor to the development and implementation of marketing communication strategies to improve brand awareness and the demand creation process. This position serves as the main company conduit for all internal and external communications. As the liaison to Human Resources, this position will help manage and maintain the company intranet to drive employee communications and engagement. The Senior Communications Specialist will work with the team to elevate the brand by overseeing the planning, writing, and posting content within various company-wide marketing systems including the corporate website, email marketing, social media, collateral, and other marketing programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Global digital marketing strategy support

  • Manage social media accounts:Responsible for writing and uploading content posts.Monitor social sites and addresses customer needs/complaints in a timely manor. Works with Communications Specialist and outside agency as needed.
  • Assist with creating content for the demand creation process
  • Creates content for global web sites and assists in ongoing website enhancements

2. Content creation

  • Maintain up-to-date content calendar for email campaigns, blogs, PR and social media, etc.
  • Work with Alto-Shaam global sales and chefs to develop ongoing industry/segment specific content
  • Write quarterly company newsletter (Roots) content, and company intranet content
  • Write and deploy monthly newsletters for Alto-Shaam global sales, NexGen, dealers, reps, service agents and end user customers
  • Create PR content, which may include customer interviews and/or site visits, such as news releases, customer testimonials, case studies, articles and sponsored content. Track all PR placements.
  • Write copy for marketing literature and spec sheets
  • Proofread all materials with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ensure consistent company brand standards and trademark compliance

3. Internal and External Communications

  • Responsible for all marketing e-mail notifications to customers/reps/dealers/service to maintain overall Alto-Shaam brand consistency
  • Responsible for creating and deployment of all internal and external company announcements
  • Assist with managing and maintaining the company intranet to drive employee communications and engagement
  • Work proactively with other departments to ensure on-time, accurate information

4. Global sales, culinary, product management and service support

  • Create and maintain PowerPoint presentations such as but not limited to: company overview, product, sales training and competitive comparisonsAssist with photo and video shoots as needed

5. Participate on cross-functional teams as needed

6. Meet scheduled deadlines for production of all marketing communications materials through effective coordination with agencies, vendors and other outside resources

7. Other duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

The successful candidate must possess a 4-year college degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations/Advertising, Journalism or related field, and have five or more years of experience in a similar role. 

SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a team player and able to interact with staff at all levels.
  • Must be able to work under pressure with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, be flexible working on multiple projects and have effective project management skills.
  • Experience managing content and production for websites and email marketing. Web analytic, SEO/SEM, mobile marketing, video optimization and CMS experience is a plus.
  • Experience in social media and public relations
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience working with designers and providing creative input on marketing campaigns and materials
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office is a must. 
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and video production is a plus.

Base Compensation - is reviewed annually against market-competitive salaries.
