Senior Director - Media Relations and Advancement Communications

Cardinal Stritch University’s Office of Advancement seeks a talented and assertive communications professional who will support the University’s efforts to sustain its strategic focus on major initiatives to strengthen University visibility among alumni, donors, prospective supporters, University friends, and other stakeholders in the Greater Milwaukee community, Midwest region, and beyond.

The Senior Director of Media Relations and Advancement Communications devises and executes the University’s messaging strategies that will position the University to enhance fund raising revenue and acquire other corollary benefits. The Senior Director, reporting to the Vice President of University Advancement, will create and secure placement of high-visibility stories in national, regional and local print, broadcast and social media that enhances the University’s reputation in specific target markets including alumni, community benefactors in Milwaukee, Madison and other target markets. Additional responsibilities include presidential communication, magazine writing and crisis communications.

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field preferred; 7-10 years of relevant experience. Previous experience with the engagement of alumni (and community friends) volunteers to enhance effectiveness.
