As the main destination marketing organization (DMO) for the greater Milwaukee area, our primary goal is representing and promoting Greater Milwaukee as a premier destination for major conventions, corporate meetings, group tours, and business and leisure travelers. Our goal of increasing visitor and meeting generated revenue is achieved through sophisticated and integrated sales, services, marketing, and public relations programs geared to local, regional, national and international target markets. VISIT Milwaukee has an immediate opening for a part-time website CMS coordinator. This is a temporary position that will run through October or until project completion.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

VISIT Milwaukee is launching a new website on the Kentico CMS platform and is seeking an individual to support the input of data into the system and building of Website pages in the Kentico CMS.

Under the guidance of the Digital Marketing Manager, the Web Content Management System Coordinator will provide short-term support for content data entry into the VISIT Milwaukee Kentico CMS and will assist with building out of website pages while utilizing approved wireframes and sitemap.

Project work to include:

  • Introduction and orientation of VISIT Milwaukee website, content, and digital strategies
  • Overview of the Kentico CMS platform setup, wireframes, and sitemap.
  • Data entry of developed content into the specified components within the Kentico CMS platform.
  • Utilizing content components, wireframes, and sitemap; build out specified web pages.
  • Review and ensure the SEO elements (metadata, keywords, alt attributes, etc.) on all pages align with VISIT Milwaukee digital strategy and SEO best practices.
  • Identify any content and metadata gaps and work with Marketing team members to ensure missing content/metadata is developed and entered into the system.


PROJECT TIMELINE:

Project work estimated to take six weeks or 120-180 hours as outlined below.

Timeline / Hours:

Week 1 September 18th – 22nd 20-30 hours

Week 2 September 25th – 29th 20-30 hours

Week 3 October 2nd -6th 20-30 hours

Week 4 October 9th-13th 20-30 hours

Week 5 October 16th-20th 20-30 hours

Week 6 October 23rd – 27th 20-30 hours

TOTAL: 6 Weeks Total 120 -180 Hours Total

Work will be conducted onsite at VISIT Milwaukee’s office. Project work will need to fall within our regular business hours (Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm CST). Computer equipment will be provided by VISIT Milwaukee, as well as limited access to VISIT Milwaukee’s network and image library.

Property is the right of VISIT Milwaukee, and content, files, and imagery can only be used for support of the website development project initiative.

Required education and experience:

  • Associates or two–year degree in marketing or computer sciences or
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties.
  • Minimum two years of demonstrated experience in digital marketing or web development/coding.
  • Past work experience with a website CMS, digital marketing, and SEO; Kentico experience a plus
  • Tourism and/or hospitality experience a plus.

Required skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience with HTML & CSS.
  • Understanding of SEO principles as they relate to content creation best practices, website structure, and inbound marketing.
  • Experience working with web content management systems, building website pages, and a working understanding of website taxonomy
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, organize, coordinate and prioritize assignments under tight deadlines.
  • Possess a strong attention to detailMust possess a team orientation and proven ability to work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital marketing principles and web development best practices.
