Do you like building relationships? Creating strategic plans? Working with video and audio podcasts, social media and websites? If so, we are looking for an Associate Communications Director who is extremely organized, loves creating structure, has amazing writing and editing skills, and understands the basic workings of the Catholic Church. With over 20 offices, 193 parishes and 107 schools, no day is really the same. The opportunity to help and assist Catholics throughout the 10 counties of southeastern Wisconsin is a constant. Communication ministry within the Archdiocese Central Offices is comprised of three main areas of focus:

Support of archdiocesan initiatives and programs

Communication to parishes and schools

Communication to the broader community

The Communication Office works to share news about the Archdiocese of Milwaukee through our website, social media platforms, the archbishop's communications and radio program, broadcast and print advertising, audio and video production, the Catholic Schools marketing program and the annual Soles for Catholic Education Walk. In addition, staff members offer assistance to parishes, schools and other Catholic organizations in strategic communication, public relations and marketing.

 

Candidate must possess an undergraduate degree in mass communications, public relations, journalism, or related field required. Minimum of five years work experience in a communication field required, including proven written and oral communication skills, project management, and knowledge of the public relations field. Experience within a non-profit organization desired. Experience with communication applications in a web-based environment required, including experience with contemporary electronic forms of communication, ie. Facebook, Twitter, etc. Practicing Catholic preferred. It is expected that the individual who is hired to fill this position will not speak on behalf of any other organization while a member of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee communications staff.

Hiring minimum - $50,856. Benefits granted the first of the month following 30 days of employment, includes health, dental, vision, and flexible spending account, generous vacation. Enrollment in the pension is after one year of employment, another 5 years to be fully vested.
