The UWM Peck School of the Arts is one of the largest and most comprehensive arts schools in the region. It has over 1600 majors and offers degree programs in art, dance, film, music, and theatre. The Department of Art and Design has 14 full-time faculty members and 17 full-time teaching academic staff members and offers BA, BFA, MA, and MFA degrees in the areas of Ceramics, Community Arts, Design & Visual Communication, Digital Fabrication & Design, Digital Studio Practice, Fibers, Jewelry/Metalsmithing, Painting/Drawing, Photography, Print/Narrative Forms, and Sculpture, and BFA and MS degrees in Art Education.
The 15-week courses will be filled based on program need, and may include the areas of Ceramics, Community Arts, Design & Visual Communication, Digital Fabrication & Design, Digital Studio Practice, Fibers, Jewelry/Metalsmithing, Painting/Drawing, Photography, Print/Narrative Forms, Sculpture, and Foundations/First-Year Program/General. The responsibilities will vary by program; however, general responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: teaching courses within these programs and working collaboratively with area faculty to maintain a vital curriculum; foster a sense of community and students individual development; and actively participate in area activities.
