The Construction and Home Improvement Markets Division is seeking to hire two (2) Brand Communication Managers to lead integrated marketing communication strategy and execution for the division’s portfolio of brands.

  • One (1) Manager will support our Home Environment and Safety business which includes our Filtrete™ Brand of air filtration products, and our 3M brand of Safety and Abrasives Products
  • One (1) Manager will support our Paint, Decorate, and Organize business which includes our Command™ Brand of damage-free hanging solutions, and our ScotchBlue™ Brand of painter’s tapes and accessories.

Job Summary:

The Brand Communications Manager collaborates with the marketing team, our internal brand center of excellence, and our external agency partners to lead the development of integrated marketing communications strategy, execution, and measurement, to increase brand awareness, strengthen brand reputation and drive sales.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the annual brand communication plan, from brief through execution, to ensure strategic alignment with business objectives and priorities 
  • Orchestrate alignment of campaign elements to ensure multi-channel integration across numerous internal and external contributors and functional disciplines. Potential tactics include: traditional advertising, public relations, in-store, digital media, events and national promotions 
  • Provide thought leadership and expert counsel to influence and advise divisional leadership on brand communication strategy and rationale, as well as innovation and experimentation opportunities 
  • Collaborate with internal partners and external vendors to identify trends and opportunities for the business communication strategy 
  • Ensure that all work is grounded in analytics to efficiently deliver against ROAS and other KPIs 
  • Partner with internal and external teams to track, analyze, and optimize campaign effectiveness 
  • Responsible for communication of, and advocacy for, the brand and campaign guidelines globally 
  • Manage the development and distribution of global marketing assets 
  • Manage and track AdMerch budget to meet financial targets 
  • Responsible for the direct supervision and development of brand communications professionals within the organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution 
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of combined marketing communications and/or brand management experience in a private, public, government or military environment 
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience developing integrated marketing communications programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or MBA with focus in Marketing or Communications. 
  • Ten (10) years experience developing branding and/or integrated marketing strategies 
  • Ten (10) years experience in consumer packaged goods industry 
  • Ten (10) years experience working with digital communications programs 
  • Ten (10) years experience working with outside advertising, creative agencies and fulfillment vendors 
  • Experienced team leader with strong individual and team development skills 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across several different teams, organizational levels, and disciplines 
  • Familiar with consumer insights and consumer research methodologies and practices 
  • Strong analytical skills to efficiently deliver against ROAS and other key KPIs 
  • Sound knowledge of the retail marketplace and related marketing technology/tools
