Founded in 1937, Kohner, Mann & Kailas, S.C. is a product of the economic turmoil of the Great Depression. Our founder, Marvin L. Kohner, determined that businesses required more aggressive, yet cost effective, advocacy. Conviction brought Marvin to break traditional practice by uniting the legal talent of attorneys with well-trained paralegals providing an effective yet cost-friendly client representation. We continue his innovation to blend practical economies with the operational needs of our business clients.
Our focus on the needs of the business and commercial community has brought us national recognition as a business law firm. Respecting our original commitment to uphold creditors' rights, and managing arguably the largest volume of commercial debt liquidation of any law firm in North America, our firm realized that our business clients needed representation of the highest caliber in all areas of their business pursuits and commerce. Today we advise clients in most industries and on all sizes, from start-up ventures to major multi-nationals, located throughout the United States and beyond.
Our litigation practice includes extensive work in complex litigation areas, including antitrust and trade regulations, securities, intellectual property, restrictive covenants, rail transportation, and international dispute resolution among other fields. Much of the work is cutting edge, and has been the subject to significant media coverage. Our litigation department frequently handles precedent-setting cases on a state-wide and national basis.
