At more than 370 members strong, TEMPO Milwaukee has developed a reputation foraccelerating,advancing, andelevatingwomen leaders in the community and serves as a viable resource with members holding CEO, executive level, and leadership positions.

The TEMPO Milwaukee Communication and Events Intern is an incoming college junior or senior pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field. The right candidate has sharp writing skills, excellent organizational skills with a strong desire to learn the ins and outs of a small nonprofit organization. This individual can juggle multiple projects and deadlines under the supervision and direction of the Director of Membership & Programs and Communication & Events Specialist. The Communication and Events Intern is hands-on, enjoys working independently and is excited to take the lead on various communications and event planning activities while assisting with a diverse range of additional tasks, including office administration, member communications, and social media. With excellent communication skills and a professional presence, s/he welcomes the opportunity to interact with TEMPO Milwaukee members (370+ of Milwaukee’s highest caliber professional women from more than 200 area companies) and the public via phone, e-mail and in-person.
The candidate must have availability for 15 hours/week during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Monday-Friday, and during events that occur outside of these hours as agreed upon (morning and evening). We will work with the intern to set a schedule and divide up the 15 hours each week.
The internship runs throughout the summer (June 2019 through August 2019) with an end date to be discussed.
