St. Marcus School

St. Marcus is a high-performing, Christ-centered elementary school (grades K3-8) and diverse community located about a mile north of downtown Milwaukee. As part of the choice program, our school provides predominantly low-income students with exceptional programming and extracurriculars. By developing partnerships with other impactful organizations, we are able to provide additional resources to students and families. You'll join a staff of dedicated people making a lasting difference.

The Mission Advancement Team is responsible for the fundraising and communications for St. Marcus School and it’s affiliated church. As the Communications Intern for the school, you will work both independently and in partnership with the Communications Specialist.

Your time will be spent curating relevant messages and engaging stories for written and visual content. You have the rare opportunity to choose your projects, ranging from writing articles to curating social media posts to executing a series of branding videos. Your selected projects might align with your coursework or outside training. You will be asked to set goals, track your own progress and meet agreed upon deadlines.

  • Work a minimum of 10, maximum of 15 hours per week
  • You’re a student pursuing a degree or training in communications, journalism or a related field
  • You can provide examples of written work (video work a plus)
  • You are passionate about quality education for children in Milwaukee and want to get to know the St. Marcus community

This is a paid internship ($11/hr.)
