POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Communications Associate is responsible for providing project-based and writing support to the Corporate and Investment Communications team within Nuveen Marketing. This position offers an opportunity to work across the functional areas within the Global Communications department including Investment Communications, Content Strategy/Operations, Internal Communications and Media Relations. It’s a role for a rising star who is detail oriented, has excellent written and oral communication skills and wants to work with a fast-paced, dynamic team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Assist with the creation and execution of internal and external communication touch points including corporate announcements, Intranet posts, social media and video as needed. 
  • Ability to write and prepare well-constructed content drafts that can be leveraged across a variety of marketing channels (email, social, video, website, etc.) based on source content. 
  • Responsible for regularly monitoring internal and external web properties to ensure content consistency, updating needs and accuracy. 
  • Monitor social media platforms, trends and competitive landscape. 
  • Provide support with broad communications reporting and campaign analysis. 
  • Help maintain and manage team status report, meetings notes and workflows. 
  • Act as a liaison between the communications team and other functional areas within marketing that are dedicated to promoting and syndicating our content. 
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a related field

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of experience in a related field 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Capable of juggling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Experience with email, social media and project/content management tools preferred 
  • Capable of operating in a collegial manner, with all employees working to achieve common goals 
  • Self-starter and critical thinker that is highly proactive on a daily basis
