Position Details

Communications Specialist
Twin Cities Metro
Eden Prairie, MN

Effectively and efficiently manage communications materials and campaigns to the physician and hospital audiences surrounding significant planned and unplanned events. Manage the development and distribution of communication material to launch and supportUnitedHealthcareand PacifiCare programs, policies and initiatives that affect network physicians, hospitals and other health care professionals in the Southeast region.

Positions in this function design and coordinate company communications, including internal and / or external communications. Responsible for maintaining policies and procedures and monitoring company media, which may include company websites. May manage public relations activities, including public information and shareholder information services.

*Employees in jobs labeled with SCA must support a government Service Contract Act (SCA) agreement.

Position can be located in Eden Prairie, MN or Irvine, CA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and investigates. 
  • Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) Bachelor's degree in Business / Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field OR 6+ months experience in related job function 
  • 3+ years of marketing or communications experienced with a matrix organization 
  • 1+ years experience in Microsoft office to include Word (create documents), Excel (create spreadsheets), Powerpoint (create presentations) 
  • Travel 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience with Adobe InDesign 
  • Cross - functional team experience working in a complex, matrix organization, preferably in a healthcare environment or with a creative agency

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and effectively establish priorities 
  • Proven ability to work with cross - functional teams 
  • Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
