Our corporate Marketing team is hiring! We’re looking for a driven, friendly, and go-getting Communications Specialist with experience crafting engaging (and fun) copy for print, web, and social media. Our Marketing team is an energetic, outgoing, and meme-loving bunch. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute the communications plan to support WMC’s strategic initiatives.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
  • Develop copy that presents a consistent and positive image of Waterstone Mortgage Corporation.
  • Develop copy that aligns with brand strategy and is appropriate to a multitude of audiences.
  • Ensure the company’s brand strategy/brand voice is consistent across a wide range of channels/media.
  • Assist with content development for materials utilized in wide range of channels/media including social, web, interactive and print advertising, email communications, training materials, enewsletters, direct mail, presentations, editorial articles, news releases, and more.
  • Develop engaging and informative email communications to internal customers.
  • Develop editorial articles for leadership personnel for insertion in national mortgage publications.
  • Develop and distribute news releases on national, regional, and local level.
  • Assist with implementation of content management system and the execution of an ongoing content management process.
  • Maintain comprehensive list of media contacts and assist with execution of media plan.

Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Writing, English, or Journalism. 
  • Exceptional grammar and diction are required. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, write correspondence, and develop memorandums is required. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization is required. 
  • Possess excellent customer service skills which includes maintaining a good attitude, meeting customer needs, demonstrating a commitment to professional development, and using positive communication. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with social platforms and web copy development are required. Basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign is a plus, as well as Hubspot certification or experience. 
  • 3 years copywriting experience, preferably in a regulated industry such as finance, mortgage (a plus), health, etc.
