Purpose:

The Corporate Communications Manager works closely with the Corporate Communications Director in a strategic and executional role to plan, organize and implement communications initiatives that advance business strategy, enhance corporate brand image and reputation, and promote positive stakeholder engagement with both internal and external audiences.

The manager of corporate communications will have frequent interaction with functional and business leaders, the media and community representatives. The successful candidate will have deep experience using multiple communications channels in fresh and innovative ways inform and engage internal audiences and advance business strategy. There is a substantial tactical component to the role requiring excellent writing skills, strong creative talents and the ability to produce under deadline.

The candidate must be willing to adapt to a dynamic work environment and have a track record of preparing communications deliverables under tight deadlines. Travel will be 10% - 15%.

Responsibilities:

  • Advance enterprise leadership communication program. This includes development of messaging and communication strategies to support achievement of business objectives. Write and edit complex messages and materials with clarity of purpose and intent to drive desired behaviors and beliefs.
  • Provide communications leadership to support organizational change, enterprise initiatives and business strategies. Develop comprehensive communication plans to inform, align and engage employees around key business issues and corporate initiatives.
  • Assists with issue management and crisis communications response and planning.
  • Manage internal communications strategy, content and channels. Provide editorial oversight for all internal content. Develop and execute communication plan to ensure a steady pipeline of information and submissions for distribution in both internal and external channels. Ensures messages and themes across functional areas align with business goals and objectives. Serves as an Andersen brand ambassador, ensuring proper brand management and use of corporate identity guidelines. Ensure a balanced representation of site news, customer successes, business initiatives/programs and product lines, and track progress toward this balance; help Andersen employees become brand ambassadors. Partner with IT to continuously improve intranet platform and functionality.
  • Support public relations strategy to advance positioning of the Andersen brand to reflect current business and product portfolio and enhance positioning around desired leadership themes through external content development, media relations and influencer engagement. Support development and production of public relations materials. Support community and special events as required.
  • Partner with business leaders and marketing teams on internal and external communications initiatives, including support for meetings, trade shows, websites, case studies or testimonials.
  • Manage cross-functional team responsible for Andersen’s internal and external communications (public relations, internal communications, intranet platform) Will collaborate with cross-functional team members in the development of communication materials for marketing and special events.

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field, MBA preferred 
  • Knowledge of social media 
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholder audiences. 
  • Experience with writing and communicating corporate brand standards. 
  • Experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning stage to successful implementation. 
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted and deadline-oriented environment. 
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with a broad array of employees and constituents. 
  • Experience working with and effectively presenting strategic plans to senior management. 
  • Comfort level and proven ability to be a communications consultant to senior management regarding the development of strategy, clear messages and appropriate channels of delivery. 
  • Experience using a variety of communication media and research tools. 
  • Excellent team orientation and partnering skills across functions and enterprise. 
  • Experience in crisis communications, situation assessment and response strategies. 
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
