Overview:

The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for helping to develop and drive internal, external and executive communications for Patterson Companies. Theysupport the effort to create and implement corporate communications that positively describes and promotes the organization and its core values, services and people.

This position supports the Corporate Communications Manager’s role as a key consultant to internal partners by advising on communications that connect with people and incorporate the company tone, vision and voice.

The ideal candidate is well-rounded in internal communications; must show demonstrated success in managing multiple projects simultaneously from start to completion; and is eager to grow in the communications space.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the writing of day-to-day content across all Patterson communications vehicles, acting as editor of main internal communications channels including content and editorial calendar development, day-to-day intranet management, metric and engagement tracking, as well as manage internal translation services for print, video and web communications 
  • Assist in developing comprehensive editorial calendar and track usage, messaging effectiveness to judge employee engagement with recommendations for continuous improvement 
  • Support social media activities for company. 
  • Maintain relevance by monitoring media and content trends in print and digital channels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations or journalism. 
  • At least 3 yearsin a role heavily focused on writing – internal communications, media relations, and/or corporate communications (samples of writing are required) 
  • Experience writing across all corporate communications vehicles including newsletters, intranets, websites, social media, press releases, video, and webcasts 
  • Strong creative and grammatical writing skills, with ability to develop clear, concise messages 
  • Must be a strategic, innovative and creative thinker 
  • Be proficient in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel 
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects under tight deadlines, and adaptable to change 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills. 
  • Ability to demonstrate accountability for results and show sound business judgement/decision-making ability 
  • Agency experience preferred
