Kalmbach Media Co. is currently seeking a Digital Art Director to join our Waukesha office. This individual is responsible for leading a small team and executing creative design across digital channels including websites, mobile, email newsletters, promotional and advertising projects, and other forms of digital product design.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and execute the design for the company's websites, mobile, email newsletters, social media graphics, and promotional and advertising projects and lead a small team. 
  • Create, develop and communicate digital design concepts, implement and test design solutions, and maintain quality control and branding. 
  • Work with the corporate digital team, content providers, and other internal customers to ensure aesthetics are aligned with usability, accessibility, and web standards. 
  • Work with developers to ensure proper implementation within a web environment and ensure consistency and integrity of the creative vision. 
  • Lead website or digital product review meetings, walking customers through design solutions. 
  • Translate wireframes into simple, easy-to-use user interfaces. 
  • Ensure consistency of brand and creative across digital customer touch points.
  • Bachelor's degree in digital design, graphic design, communications or a related field and 3+ years of professional experience. Team management is a plus. 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills and the ability to understand complex information and communicate it in simple terms to various audiences. 
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS within a Responsive Design environment. 
  • Advance skills with Adobe Creative Suite products (specifically Photoshop and Dreamweaver). 
  • Knowledge of User-Centered Design (UCD) Principles and User Experience (UX) best practices. 
  • Experience with various website content-management systems. Comfortable with Microsoft Office products.
