The Digital Marketing & Content Manager is responsible for creating and managing company-wide strategy for emails, social media, website content updates and analytics, and creating and curating dynamic content to share among all digital platforms. The position serves as an integral member of the marketing team, works with all departments and stakeholders, and reports to the Marketing & Public Relations Director.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Digital Marketing & Content Manager is responsible for creating and managing company-wide strategy for emails, social media, website content updates and analytics, and creating and curating dynamic content to share among all digital platforms. The position serves as an integral member of the marketing team, works with all departments and stakeholders, and reports to the Marketing & Public Relations Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Develop and manage effective email marketing campaigns that achieve communications and revenue goals. Ensure email marketing and segmentation strategies are within industry best practice standards. Monitor email metrics to optimize campaign performance. Work collaboratively with other departments to coordinate their specific email marketing needs.
  • Maintain active social media presence for First Stage aligned with the company brand, including Facebook page, blog, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Ensure two-way communication with constituents to drive engagement. Manage all paid social media advertising with digital marketing agency.
  • With the Marketing and Public Relations Director and other outside agencies, keep up to date of social media evolution and its relevancy to First Stage’s marketing strategies.
  • Manage First Stage’s website, updating the content on a regular basis with web-optimized copy, photo, video, and forms, coordinating with other departments on timely content needs. Work collaboratively with the Marketing & Public Relations Director and General Manager on developing and implementing a robust digital strategy. Lead in tracking analytics to maximize website performance results.
  • Create and curate dynamic content to tell First Stage’s story through our digital channels, equally representing our productions, Theater Academy, Theater in Education programs, and First Stage alumni.
  • Manage the publication of our playbills for each production, collecting artists’ bios, headshots, and other materials, working with publisher on layout and editing, and facilitating the proofing process among key staff for timely delivery.
  • Drive the collaboration among internal departments (Marketing, Box Office, Theater Academy, Theater in Education, Development) to ensure efficiency and clarity in all communications (via email, web, and social media).
  • Actively manage an organization-wide content calendar for website, email, and social media communications, aligned with strategic objectives and marketing campaigns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Proactive, creative, and professional collaborator who is comfortable working with a variety of individuals, including colleagues, artists, young people and families, and outside vendors.
  • Able to quickly gain a deep understanding of First Stage and apply that understanding to day-to-day operations.
  • Detail and results-oriented and organized; comfortable multi-tasking to produce high-quality work on tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and project management skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) is necessary.
  • Working knowledge of email marketing platforms, CRM, and social media platforms required; knowledge of Google Analytics preferred; knowledge in Tessitura and Mail2 helpful; familiarity with photo and video editing software helpful.
  • Bachelor’s degree, and at least three years’ work experience in digital or direct marketing capacity; performing arts or non-profit experience is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to successfully pass a background check.
