The Digital (UX) Designer serves a critical role in our digital communications efforts and is a key player in driving revenue and deepening audience engagement. The successful candidate must be detail- and goal-oriented, able to manage multi-layered projects, inherently collaborative, positive and energetic as well as passionate about user experience and digital design.

MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:

Website:

  • Design, produce and manage website content and functionality 
  • Make recommendations on new features, applications, etc. to enhance user experience and deepen audience engagement 
  • Concept and create UI wireframes, mockups and prototypes for web design 
  • Lead website user experience initiatives 
  • Responsible for updating webpages utilizing data and best practices 
  • Lead, build and report on A/B testing and user testing feedback 
  • Research design trends and stay informed regarding best practices for mobile and web-based information architecture and responsive design 
  • Lead process and internal project team to deliver a data-driven website redesign 
  • Work alongside Creative Director to ensure brand standards are met with any redesign efforts 
  • Refine and maintain a consistent web style guide across the organization and its various channels and departments 
  • Work in collaboration with digital marketing agency on SEO/SEM efforts 
  • Advise all departments on user experience best practices 
  • Onboard and train all departments on content management system 
  • Recommend, manage and implement ongoing initiatives for improving website functionality and utilizing/testing new technologies 
  • Ensure seamless integration of main website with ticketing system and shopping cart pages 
  • Collaborate with Director of Audience Services and ticket sales staff to enhance and improve user experience for subscription transactions 
  • Perform quality assurance testing on all UX/UI website updates 
  • Establish analytics benchmarks and goals in consultation with Director of Marketing 
  • Monitor and communicate website analytics through weekly/monthly digital dashboards 
  • Manage operating relationship with contracted web development team 

E-mail:

  • Provide design templates/standards for all email campaigns 
  • Maintain Tessitura-based transactional email templates 
  • Co-manage relationship with external email service provider with Director of IT 
  • Support Digital Marketing Specialist with email production and distribution as needed 
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing Specialist on digital analytics dashboard

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and schedule all incoming requests for digital deliverables and web updates, ensuring timely and accurate delivery and deployment 
  • Project manage digital design requests performed by creative team as appropriate 
  • Participate in group discussion and assist with relevant customizations for Tessitura online ticketing system from a user-experience perspective 
  • Attend meetings as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in web design and/or front-end development 
  • Proven managerial, leadership, organizational and presentation skills 
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Cloud and content management systems 
  • Javascript, PHP skills are a plus 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both with team members and independently 
  • Experience managing multi-layered projects 
  • Strong understanding of search engine optimization and Google Analytics 
  • Experience providing statistical tracking and report information. 
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to engage colleagues and leadership 
  • Detail oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driving environment 
  • Non-profit experience and knowledge of classical music, arts and culture preferred
